Hi.
I recently got a new laptop and when i tried today to play a dvd with it real player said that it needs some software to be able to play dvds. So what kind of software do i need to be able to play dvds with real player? Is it free or do i have to buy anything?
Thanks

If you don't mind switiching software, download VLC Media Player. It will play dvds and almost every video file immaginable. For Real Player you probably need a certain codek but I'm not sure what that might be. VLC is very accessible you just use the menu bar to get around. SO if you don't mind switching, I'd suggest that.

Also, DVD audio extractor is really good. Its main purpose is ripping audio from dve to mp3 and other formats, but can also be used to make a dvd totally accessible. Think you can find it at castudio.org or just google dvd audio extractor. Really awesome piece of software.

Dvd audio extractor can be downloaded from
http://www.castudio.org/
It's a wonderful program. I use it often, and would be willing to provide assistance to anyone who gets stuck, although I doubt you will. It's just that easy to use.

Is it free or not?

There's a thirty day trial, and then you have to pay for it, but there are cracks for it just like almost every other piece of software out there.
